From the 1960s onwards, research has repeatedly found that exposure to media violence leads to increased aggression. Red Goods are a range of products which allow individuals to enjoy media violence in a safe way by providing an outlet for physical aggression. After having watched a thrilling strangling scene in a film, why not live out the fantasy by strangling your floor lamp to turn it off? Just seen a war film or been playing a violent computer game? Channel your aggression into the Twister Knife Block, designed to emit a low moan when the blade is twisted. Red Goods provide much-needed surrogacy for aggressive tendencies, and help their owners to tread the fine line between consumer and producer of violence.
